The Pontoons by K2 were inspired by legendary big mountain skier Shane McConkey, and they have absolutely revolutionized the ski industry. The Pontoons were one of the first (if not THE first) skis that featured Powder Rocker technology. As you might notice when you browse through the other skis in this category, almost every single one now features some sort of rocker technology for maximum tip flotation in the deep snow. They have also inspired the increased width that can be seen in skis all across the industry. Added by mtbgreg1 on June 16, 2011
However, the Pontoons are still one of the most extreme offerings available. They measure an astonishing 160/130/120 millimeters wide from tip-to-tail. These skis truly are intended to float like pontoons! The narrow tail allows super tight turns at slow speeds through the deep trees, and the added stiffness in the 2010/2011 rendition of ski allows it to easily mach down wide open faces.
If you just want to shred powder and you want to do it with stylish ease, be sure to check out the K2 Pontoons! Available in 169, 179, and 189 cm lengths.
