With 500 inches of average annual snowfall and a summit elevation of 11,000 feet, Snowbird has plenty of western powder and slopes for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels.

Snowbird boasts 85 trails spanning over 2,500 skiable acres. Visitors experience 3,240 feet of vertical drop and the longest trail is 2.5 miles long.

The trails are rated 27% beginner, 38% intermediate, and 35% advanced. An aerial tram, 10 chairlifts, and 2 conveyor lifts service the trails with an uphill capacity of 17,400 people per hour. Trails include Fields of Glory, Big Emma, and Bassakwards.

I agree with Greg, Snowbird feels BIG and it can definitely seem intimidating! One great thing about it though is that there are blue runs from the top! Even intermediate skiers can head up on the tram and make their way down Chip's; you can take Peruvian and go through the tunnel to Mineral Basin and find even more blue and green runs! The best though is skiing the Little Cloud bowl. What fun!

The one word that comes to mind when I think of Snowbird is BIG. Snowbird seems to have a BIG everything: a BIG aerial tram, one of the highest chairlifts I've ever been on, BIG vertical drop with runs that seem like they'll never end, BIG snowfall = BIG powder, BIG wide-open faces, BIG cliffs, ultra-steep boot-pack-accessed faces, BIG jumps, BIG chalets, BIG skyscrapers.... and I'm sure the list could keep going.

Snowbird is BIG, and while sometimes it feels intimidating, it's so good!
